River: Hi TARDIS did The Doctor behave while I was gone?
TARDIS: GIRL LET ME TELL YOU
haterswillhateme: How old are you? Just out of curiosity. Opinions shouldn't be determined by age, but by the amount of time spent thinking about the issue. I'm glad you have an opinion on the matter, because it's an important matter that needs to be addressed.

I’m seventeen. And I completely agree. It’s all about the way you come to your views and defend it. Most people I know tend to defend their views like wailing children with nothing to defend their arguments except ‘BUT I’M RIGHT’ (which, I admittedly did as well until recently). But then I’ve seen thirteen year olds who look at an issue, break it down, and argue it with a far more sensible and mature attitude, listening to the other argument, giving their own, and learning how to actually give proper reasons for their opinions.

The sad thing is, my mother and the other adults who try to say that you need all of this age, wisdom, and experience to have an opinion is just their way of denying and logic that someone younger than them could possibly have. And sure, some experience and doing some research on certain topics such as abortion will go a long way (and that means more than believing all of the little ‘save the babies because this!’ pictures you see on facebook). But they aren’t required to have an opinion.

True maturity, at least in my opinion (haha see what I did there I’m so funny) doesn’t just come from age or experience, but from the ability to have an opinion, argue it, learn about it, and be capable of listening and even accepting other ideas. I sure as hell know that if I hadn’t been capable of that I’d still be spitting hate at anyone supporting abortion today.

Wow, sorry, that was kinda an absurdly long response. I just have a lot to say about this stuff, but I’ll stop here.

Now my mom is ignoring me when I try to talk to her. She’s being all awkward. Still, nbd. I knew I’d be telling her eventually, it just accidentally came out a bit sooner than I’d hoped.

Just wait until she gets to learn about all of my other fun opinions and values. Those will have to wait until I’m ‘old enough to have an opinion’ though.
